Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
These verses celebrate publicly praising God in the assembly and foretell a universal worship under the LORD's sway. It also speaks of God's attentive care for the afflicted and a future where all nations honor Him.
Neville's Inner Vision
Here the psalmist speaks not to an external deity alone but through the I AM in you. The 'brethren' and the 'great congregation' are inner states of consciousness that gather when awareness is focused. To declare God's name is to name your own arising awareness; to praise is to awaken gratitude within the field of attention. The affliction mentioned is not only outward suffering but any belief that hides your light; God does not despise them because your consciousness can hold them, turn toward them, and hear the answer that comes from within. When you cry, you are aligning with the hearing I AM that answers from your own interior. Your praise in the great assembly is the felt realization that your heart's life is sustained by this presence. The meek eat and are satisfied because you stop seeking outside and feast on the truth you now accept. All ends of the world remember and turn to the LORD as your awareness expands beyond limitation; nations worship before the governor of your life. The kingdom is the LORD's; let that be the governing state of your inner empire, now and forever. A seed serves Him; let that seed be your steadfast conviction that your future generations awaken to this life.
Practice This Now
Assume the inner state of universal praise now: picture yourself in the great congregation, declare the name of God within, and feel the acceptance of all life; if fear or lack arises, revise by affirming 'the kingdom is mine' until you feel it real.
