Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Two allegiances are set before us: trust in external power and trust in the LORD. The psalm promises that when we remember the Lord, we rise in inner strength and our call for help is heard.
Neville's Inner Vision
Verse 7 presents a choice between trusting in outward symbols of power (chariots and horses) and remembering the name of the LORD, the I AM within. In Neville's terms, the external aids are mere appearances of a conditioned mind; your true power lies in awareness itself. To remember the LORD is to re-anchor attention in the I AM, the sovereign state of consciousness within you. When you do, the dream of reliance on worldly forces dissolves as you rise in awareness; “they are brought down and fallen” refers to old beliefs in limitation collapsing under the light of inner truth, while you “are risen, and stand upright” in the assurance of your true nature. The petition “Save, LORD” becomes a call to awaken the inner king and hear your own inner hearing—your prayer answered by the presence that you are. Persisting in this shift reveals a life where external threats fade as the certainty of God’s presence governs your being and your results.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, settle into the I AM within, and imagine the inner King listening as you call; feel the rise of certainty that you are heard and protected from within.
