Banner of Salvation Within

Psalms 20:5-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 20 in context

Scripture Focus

5We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions.
6Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
7Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
Psalms 20:5-7

Biblical Context

Plainly, the psalm celebrates rejoicing in salvation and in God’s help, while it contrasts trusting in Him with relying on earthly chariots.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the inner theater, salvation is not a future event to beg for but a state of consciousness already granted. When the Psalms say rejoice in thy salvation, it is your awareness rejoicing that the desired result is already present in consciousness. The banners you lift are the affirmations you carry in your mind, the consistent recognition that your petitions have their source in the I AM. The Lord saving His anointed is the recognition that your true self—your anointed nature—already stands protected by divine intelligence from the heavens of your awareness; hearing from His holy heaven is the whisper of destiny within, the right-hand strength you feel as certainty. Some trust in chariots and horses, symbols of external power; but you replace that image with the awareness that power flows from the name of the LORD, which is your own I AM. Thus, your faith is not a plea but a turn of attention, an inner alignment that makes petitions natural outcomes.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume you are already saved; feel the inner banners rise as petitions fulfilled, and dwell in the I AM until the sense of lack dissolves.
