Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The psalm affirms that God's judgments are pure and enduring, more valuable than worldly riches, and that following them yields warning and great reward.
Neville's Inner Vision
I come to the verse as an invitation to discover that the Lord in me is not a distant lawgiver, but the living I AM that makes every scene. The 'fear of the LORD' is not fear but clear, clean awareness—an inner reverence that endures because it rests in the truth that I am the one who sees. The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether; they are the inner standards by which I measure every thought, impression, and impulse. When I am willing to honor these inner laws, world’s riches lose their grip; the outer rewards become signals pointing me to the depth I already possess. More to be desired than gold, sweeter than honey and honeycomb, these judgments refine my taste, clarifying what I accept as real. By them am I warned—not threatened, but guided into a fruitful life; to keep them is to align my entire being with the rhythm of God’s inner governance. Reward is not deprivation but wholeness: a life harmonized with truth, discernment, and steadfast faith.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine the inner judgments as a bright, unerring standard within you. Silently affirm, 'I am governed by the true judgments of God,' and feel the reward of alignment already filling your being.
