Psalms 19:12-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 19 in context

Scripture Focus

12Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
13Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
Psalms 19:12-13

Biblical Context

Who can understand his errors? The psalm asks for cleansing from secret faults and for protection from presumptuous sins so that one may remain upright and innocent from the great transgression.

Neville's Inner Vision

All that you call errors are not distant sins but states of consciousness you have not yet settled into I AM. When you ask, 'Who can understand his errors?' you are measuring the contents of your own mind, and the longing reveals a readiness to awaken. The cleansing you seek is a revision in imagination: declare that you are now clean, whole, and free, and dwell in that end-state until it is felt as real. The 'secret faults' are hidden beliefs incongruent with your true being; bring them to light by refusing to identify with them and audition the truth of your unity with I AM. The request to keep back your servant from presumptuous sins is the discipline of guarding the mind from pride and self-will, not a begging for mercy from without. As you persist in this inner stance, you become upright and innocent of the great transgression—the sense of separation dissolves as you align with the divine I AM within and walk in that reality now.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, and assume the feeling: I am clean; my hidden faults are washed away. Feel the mind kept from presumptuous thoughts, and dwell in the upright, innocent state you already are.
