Psalms 19:1-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus

1The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
3There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
4Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
7The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
12Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
13Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Psalms 19:1-14

Biblical Context

The heavens declare God’s glory through creation, and the law reveals how to live wisely. The psalmist asks for cleansing from faults and guidance to keep the heart healthy.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the castle of your mind, the heavens declare the glory of God—your awareness. There is no language that cannot register the inner voice of order, because all signs are your own states of consciousness. The sun in them is a symbol of your rising state, a bridegroom of light that moves by your desire. As you accept that the Law of the LORD is perfect—your inner law that converts the soul—your thoughts become wiser, your feelings become aligned, and the eyes of your mind are enlightened. Reverence is not fear but clear perception that endures; the judgments are true when you live in alignment with your I AM. More to be desired than gold is this law, sweeter than honey to your inner ear, for it warns and rewards you when kept. Ask for cleansing from hidden faults, and guard against presumptuous thoughts that drain your vitality. Speak and let your heart meditate in harmony with your inner Lord; let your mouth words and your heart’s song be acceptable to the Self that is your strength and Redeemer.

Practice This Now

Assume the state, 'I am the light by which the sun of truth rises in my life.' Breathe into that image for a few minutes, then revise any doubt by repeating that the heavens are declaring order within me.
