Inner Hearing, Pure Speech
Psalms 17:1-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The psalmist asks God to hear a truthful cry and to let his decisions arise from God’s presence, while affirming integrity under testing and seeking protection from destructive paths through truthful speech.
Neville's Inner Vision
Hear the right is a declaration of inner alignment with the I AM. When I say attend unto my cry, I am not petitioning an external authority but affirming that God within me attends to my consciousness. Let my sentence come forth from thy presence means my words flow from the divine presence I am aware of; the eye of God within me sees what is true and just. The night and the trials are inner fires refining my heart; to be proved is to shed fear and to reveal a truthful nature. I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress: the resolution to speak only what is true, aligned with the divine word, becomes the inner discipline that guards me from error. Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer means that once my lips echo the God-wisdom within, external paths lose their lure. The outer world follows the inner decree; I am kept by the fidelity of truth and the integrity of my inner sentence.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the I AM attends your cry; declare inwardly, 'My sentences come forth from thy presence, my lips speak truth.' Throughout the day, revise fear or deceit into truth and feel kept from the paths of destruction by the word of God on your lips.
