Biblical Context
Psalm 16:9 describes an inner state of gladness, blessed glory, and resting hope that seeks to be lived in consciousness rather than awaited from without.
Neville's Inner Vision
Psalm 16:9 is not a promise of distant mercy but a revelation of your inner kingdom. My heart is glad because I have joined my life to the I AM, the eternal presence within me. My glory rejoiceth because the inner vision of myself as whole and abundant is crowned with certainty. My flesh rests in hope because the body follows the mood of the mind; rest is the body's surrender to a now-true assumption. In this light, 'hope' is not fear of the future but confident expectancy grounded in the I AM. The kingdom is within, and all outward happenings bend to the inner decree when I remain faithful to the end I have already cast in imagination. To practice: assume that you are already in the state the verse describes—glad heart, rejoicing glory, resting flesh—and dwell in that end until it feels inevitable. If doubt arises, revise by affirming, 'I am united with the I AM; this is already true.'
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: close your eyes, breathe deeply, and dwell in the end—glad heart, rejoicing glory, rested flesh—feeling it as already true; repeat 'I am the I AM, resting in hopeful glory' until it feels real.
