Biblical Context
Psalm 15:2-5 describes a person who walks uprightly, does righteousness, and speaks truth in the heart. Their conduct aligns with fairness, loyalty to truth, and love of neighbor.
Neville's Inner Vision
Imagine that every verse is a description of your inner state, not an external rule. When you walk upright, when you do righteousness, and when you speak truth in your heart, you are simply affirming the I AM that you are now. The backbiting, the evil toward another, the reproach against a neighbor, these are not acts in a distant world, but movements of consciousness you choose to starve. Contemning a vile person in the eyes of your inner vision means you hold a standard for yourself, a reverence for the fear of the LORD as your own reverence for your highest Self. To swear to your own hurt and not change is to align your memory with immutable law; your word becomes your inner covenant, regardless of appearance. Not setting your money to usury or taking rewards against the innocent mirrors a state of non-coercive abundance within, which cannot be moved by outward chaos. Assume you are upright now; you are the living law that keeps you unmoved, for your reality follows your consistent state of awareness.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare, 'I am upright, I work righteousness, I speak truth in my heart.' See yourself living these qualities today, and act on one small, truthful choice that reflects this inner state.
