Psalms 15:2-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The psalm describes a person who lives with integrity: upright conduct, truth in the heart, kindness to neighbors, and steadfast fidelity to one's word, while honoring those who fear the LORD.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the awakened consciousness these verses describe a state in which uprightness is not a rule but the very pattern of inner life: truth spoken from the heart, no malicious tongue, no harm to neighbor, and a reverence for what is holy in others. When you perceive yourself as the I AM that perceives, the outer rules become reflections of your inner posture. Walking upright is the decision to align every impulse with integrity; speaking the truth in the heart is the steady inner consent to truth regardless of outward outcomes. The negative acts—backbiting, doing evil to neighbor, taking up reproach—reveal misalignment: inner conflict that repels your good. Esteeming those who fear the LORD denotes discernment and honor for righteousness; swearing to your own hurt and not changing becomes a discipline of the will, a refusal to abandon truth for comfort. In this light, the verse teaches that righteousness is an inner atmosphere that creates just relationships and a just world through imagination.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: In the next moment, assume the identity of the upright person. Feel that state as real now and revise any contrary thought by affirming the higher pattern.
