Psalms 146:3-4

Biblical Context

The psalm warns not to trust princes or mortal man, whose support fades with breath. It invites turning inward to the I AM, where true power and future direction reside.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, this verse is not a rebuke of rulers but a reminder that you have mistaken outward power for the source of your life. To trust a prince or a man is to misplace the I AM, for their breath is brief and their thoughts perish in the very moment you seek help. In truth the life you seek is the awareness you already are, the I AM within you that neither ages nor falters. When you imagine yourself at the mercy of others, you are simply asleep to your own divine sight. The practice is to awaken by assuming the feeling of the I AM—here, now, as the ruler of your inner kingdom. Announce to yourself that you need no external aid, for the universe of your experience is formed by your consciousness. Revision follows belief: see provision arising from within, not arriving from without; feel the power of inner guidance arranging people, events, and timing according to your true state. When you persist in this inward posture, what you call future peace is a present fact, here and now.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume the I AM now; revise the belief that princes govern your fate by silently declaring, I am the I AM within, and my life is guided by divine provision. Then rest in the feeling of that truth for a minute and observe how it reorients your inner world.
