Trust Not the Princes Within

Psalms 146:3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 146 in context

Scripture Focus

3Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
Psalms 146:3

Biblical Context

The verse warns not to rely on external rulers for help; true aid comes from within. Your inner I AM is the source of guidance and safety.

Neville's Inner Vision

Be not deceived by the pageant of princes and the son of man, for help is not in the outward frame but in the I AM that you are. In my teaching, the verse is a map of consciousness: place your confidence in the inner reality that never falters, the living conviction you are, the eye that sees. External authorities symbolize transient states of mind—fear, doubt, need—while the true governor sits within as unlimited awareness. When you feel pressed by appearances, imagine you are in close communion with your inner king. See every worry dissolve as you accept a new identification: I am the one who provides, I am the aid that never leaves, I am the power behind the scene. The 'princes' are temporary projections; the only real solution is the I AM acting through your present feeling of assurance. By assuming this reality, you revise the old belief that you are at the mercy of a fallible world and awaken to a constant supply from within.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: sit quietly, assume the I AM is your immediate aid and feel that support as real now. Revise any belief in external aid by repeating, 'I am within, I am helped.'
