Psalm 145:8-20 presents God as gracious, compassionate, and sustaining. It portrays an everlasting kingdom under His care and the invitation to call on Him in truth.
Neville's Inner Vision
Imagine that the gracious Lord of Psalm 145 is not elsewhere, but the I AM that you are in this very moment. The verse speaks of a God who is slow to anger, full of mercy, and whose kingdom endures; so too does your awareness, when you dwell in that state, persevere through every circumstance. In this inner vision, all your creatures—the thoughts, desires, and even the fears—are held by a gentle, just hand open to you. When you call upon this Lord in truth, you find Him near, uplifting the fallen, feeding the hungry, and satisfying every living desire as you hold the image of your own I AM. The kingdom you seek is not out there but within your own life-conscience, an everlasting dominion that you renew each moment by supporting thoughts, by fierce honesty, and by gentle patience. By choosing to dwell in the present awareness of this mercy, you awaken to act from it, in every relationship and decision, until your entire world reflects His glorious majesty.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, assume the state 'I am the gracious Lord, full of mercy, and the everlasting kingdom within.' Feel this as your living reality, and picture your needs being met by the open hand of your inner God.
