Summoning Heaven Within
Psalms 144:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Psalms 144 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verses plead for God's descent and decisive power to dissolve threats and obstacles. The imagery of heaven opening and mountains smoking signals inner breakthroughs and protection.
Neville's Inner Vision
Remember, the LORD in this psalm is not a distant conqueror but your I AM, your consciousness. Bow thy heavens means align your outer awareness with the inner throne of reality. When you imagine God coming down, you invite your own awareness to descend into your life and reorder it. Touch the mountains and they shall smoke—let the fixed beliefs rise to be dissolved by understanding their nothingness. Cast forth lightning and scatter them; shoot out thine arrows and destroy them—that is the swift, lucid act of imagination that displaces fear and limitation. The battles illustrated are internal: you are not fighting others but transmuting inner states until peace and power are present here. Assume that you already are the power that creates the world; feel it as real, and the outer scene must reflect your inner decree. The heavens open as your awareness expands, and your life manifests what you have assumed.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes, center in the feeling 'I am the power that creates,' and imagine heaven opening over your life. See the mountains dissolve into smoke as you affirm that you are consciousness here and now.
