Psalms 142:2-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 142 in context

Scripture Focus

2I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.
3When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.
Psalms 142:2-3

Biblical Context

The psalmist voices distress and hidden snares. Yet the inner awareness—the I AM—knows the path to be walked.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, Psalm 142 is not a record of a lonely cry but a map of your inner state. To pour out a complaint is to name a trouble to the I AM within, the conscious awareness that never leaves you. When your spirit feels overwhelmed, you are not abandoned by infinite care; you are being shown the edge of a belief you have accepted as real. The path is not external to be found; the path is the realization you already know within, the way your inner guide perceives as present. The snares you accuse others of laying are simply beliefs that have shadowed your attention. By attention you empower them; by attention you withdraw your identification from the overwhelm and return it to the I AM who knows the road. Practice the shift: identify as the watcher, revise the scene, and feel the relief that follows as if the journey is already complete. In this light, Providence is not coming to you; it is the very seeing, the I AM looking through you and directing your steps.

Practice This Now

Assume the I AM is guiding your every step and feel the relief as the path becomes clear. Silently revise the scene: I am led now; I walk in safety and peace.
