Eyes Fixed Upon God

Psalms 141:8-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 141 in context

Scripture Focus

8But mine eyes are unto thee, O GOD the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.
9Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.
Psalms 141:8-9

Biblical Context

The speaker fixes their eyes on God and declares trust in Him. They ask not to be left destitute and seek protection from snares set by the workers of iniquity.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within this verse the observer learns that the eyes fixed on God are an inner alignment of consciousness, not a gaze outward. Trust emerges as a durable stance of the I AM, an assumption that divine presence is the fabric of awareness. When the psalmist says in thee is my trust, imagine your own I AM as shelter and source of safety; the outer world mirrors your inner state. The snares and gins represent the limiting beliefs born in darkness; they vanish when you refuse entry by feeling and knowing you are already protected by divine order. To dwell with this verse is to revise fear through fidelity to the I AM. See yourself as already kept, as if deliverance is present now, and watch fear dissolve as your realization strengthens.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, assume the feeling that you are kept by the I AM, and repeat the assertion, I am held in God. Then carry the sensation of protection into ordinary activity, knowing the inner state creates the outer outcome.
