Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Your eyes are fixed on God; you trust in Him. In this gaze, the soul is kept from destitution.
Neville's Inner Vision
Psalm 141:8 invites you to turn away from appearances and rest your attention in the I AM within. The words, 'my eyes are unto Thee, O God the Lord; in Thee is my trust,' are not about petitioning an external deity but about recognizing consciousness itself as the Source. When you fix your inner gaze on God—the ever-present I AM—you realize trust is an inner state, not a reaction to circumstance. The belief that you are separate from this Source is the destitution the psalm speaks of; you dissolve it by assuming that God, the Lord, governs every movement of your life from within. In practice, you live from the recognition that the I AM is your immediate reality. Thoughts, feelings, and events respond to the conviction that you are eternally supported by a life that cannot fail. As you persist in that consciousness, you align your experiences with abundance, safety, and guidance. The eyes of your consciousness become windows through which the divine moves; the outer world adjusts to reflect the inner trust you have cultivated.
Practice This Now
Act: Sit quietly, repeat 'Mine eyes are unto Thee, O God the Lord; in Thee is my trust,' then imagine the I AM surrounding you like a warm light, securing your soul and guiding every step.
