Biblical Context
Psalm 14:5–6 contrasts fear in the godless with the awareness that God dwells with the righteous; the helpless are judged by others while the LORD serves as refuge for the afflicted and poor.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the inner weather of your mind, fear dissolves when you recognize the I AM as the very ground of being. The verse does not point to an external crowd; it declares that God is in the generation of the righteous—that is, in the state of consciousness which knows itself as one with divine order. The “counsel of the poor” being shamed is merely the old thought-voice within that seeks refuge outside itself. The truth Neville teaches is that the Lord is the refuge of the consciousness that dares to claim its unity with God. Therefore, identify yourself with the righteous state by an inner assumption: I am one with God, and God is with me now. When this is held, fear loses its grip, guidance appears as a felt certainty, and protection manifests as a steady sense of safety in awareness. Remember: revolutions in life begin with a revision within, not a rearrangement of outward conditions.
Practice This Now
Assume right now that you are the righteous in God’s sight; close your eyes and silently repeat 'The LORD is my refuge' while imagining a warm, radiant space surrounding your chest, affirming the presence of God within you.
