Psalm 14: Inner Refuge Revealed
Psalms 14:1-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verses declare that fools say there is no God and all are corrupt; yet God looks to see who understands and seeks Him, and the righteous find refuge in Him.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this reading, the 'fool' is a state of consciousness that believes in separation from the I AM. To declare 'There is no God' is to suspend awareness of your divine nature. The Lord looking down from heaven becomes your inner attention surveying thoughts until it recognizes the absence of a true understanding of God. When all are said to be gone aside, it points to a habit of mind clinging to limitation. Yet the line about fear and refuge is a promise: when you align with the truth that God dwells within, fear dissolves into stillness because the source of life is present as your very own awareness. To 'call upon the LORD' is to turn within and acknowledge the I AM that you are. The counsel of the poor is not laid bare as defeat but as opportunity: your inner counsel can be redirected to the one Presence who shelters you. In this inner reorientation, the generation of the righteous is the ongoing state of consciousness that knows God is your refuge and you are safe in Him.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and silently affirm, 'I am the I AM; God is my refuge now.' Feel a warm, quiet presence within as you repeat the affirmation, letting fear melt into awareness.
