Seeking the Inner Way

Psalms 139:23-24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 139 in context

Scripture Focus

23Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalms 139:23-24

Biblical Context

The psalmist invites God to examine the heart and thoughts, to uncover any harmful paths, and to lead the seeker into the everlasting way.

Neville's Inner Vision

Search me, O God, and know my heart, then reveal the movements of my inner life to my awareness. Your heart is the field of consciousness, and thoughts are its currents. When you say 'know my heart' you invite the I AM within to become intimately acquainted with every motive and impulse. 'Try me' asks your inner self to test these patterns—fears, desires, and beliefs—that claim precedence over truth. The 'wicked way' is any thought that separates you from your essential oneness with God, any belief that you are lacking or unworthy. To 'lead me in the way everlasting' is to realize you are already in that perpetual path when you align with the I AM. Imagination is the instrument by which this alignment is felt and walked; faith is the steady assumption that you are the I AM, here and now, living in perpetual truth.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit quietly and assume the state, whispering, 'I am the I AM; God within knows my heart and leads me now.' Then hold that feeling until your thoughts align with this everlasting way.
