Read Psalms 138 in context

Scripture Focus

4All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, when they hear the words of thy mouth.
5Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great is the glory of the LORD.
6Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
Psalms 138:4-6

Biblical Context

The psalm declares that rulers will praise God when they hear His words, and that the Lord esteems the humble while keeping the proud at a distance.

Neville's Inner Vision

All the 'kings of the earth' are states of mind, not distant rulers. When you hear the words of the mouth of the Lord, you hear your I AM speaking with sovereign authority. The glory of the LORD is the vibrational field your heart expands into as you align with that inner voice. High things are only outward symbols; true ascent happens when you honor the humble—your willingness to let go of ego and to submit to the divine flow. The proud, the image of self-importance, is felt as distance because it blocks the life-essence transforming within. Your work is to assume you are already crowned by the inner king, to revise any lack into fullness, and to feel that this reign is present now. In that inner alignment, outward circumstances mirror your inner state, and praise becomes the natural sound of your life.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, declare 'I am the Lord within me; I reign now.' Visualize your inner king speaking through you and feel the truth as real, then revise any sense of separation into unity.
