Biblical Context
The passage invites turning inward to worship, recognizing that God's Word is exalted above all and that divine response brings strength. It also foresees nations praising the Lord as the inner Word is heard.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the Neville reader, this psalm is a map of consciousness. 'I will worship toward thy holy temple' means I turn my attention to the inner sanctuary where I am now aware of the I AM that I am. 'Lovingkindness and thy truth' appear as the tender consistency and clear alignment of my mind. The declaration that God magnifies thy word above all thy name tells me the creative Word within—my assumption, my image, my inner decree—has more power than any outward label. In the day I cry, the I AM answers and strengthens me with a fresh sense of soul-strength. The kings of the earth shall praise thee when they hear the words of thy mouth becomes my forecast: as I dwell in the Word, my outer conditions bow to the inner decree. They will sing in the ways of the Lord for great is the glory of the Lord, visible as I embody the Word in thought, feeling, and action. Worship then is the practice of repeating the inner Word until it manifests as fact.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, turn your attention inward to your inner temple, and assume the Word within is true for you now. Speak softly to yourself: 'I am the Word made flesh in my experience,' and feel the strength filling your soul as outer conditions align.
