Scripture Focus

5If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.
Psalms 137:5

Biblical Context

Psalm 137:5 speaks a vow not to forget Jerusalem; exile and longing are states of consciousness. It frames returning to the inner city as a renewal of remembrance and power.

Neville's Inner Vision

To Neville's ear, Psalms 137:5 whispers that Jerusalem is a state of consciousness you must not forget. If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, the inner city, my right hand—the creative power of my I AM—loses its cunning, becomes habit, and cannot fashion the life I desire. Exile is not a distant land but a moment when I imagine myself apart from the One Presence. The cure is a deliberate act of remembrance: I turn back to the inner Zion and claim that I am there now. When I imagine the city as already real, I feel the power restored, the senses aligned, the will steady. Endurance grows as I persist in feeling the truth until outer events bow to the inner vision. The 'return' is a present-tense movement: I am in Jerusalem because I am awareness itself, and the world is its expression.

Practice This Now

Practice: close your eyes and imagine Jerusalem within you. Affirm 'I remember Jerusalem now' and feel your power flowing through your right hand.
