Neville's Inner Vision
Verse 136:23 invites us to dwell in the memory of the I AM: God remembers us in our low estate, and His mercy endures forever. In the language of consciousness, 'remembered' is not a distant act in time but a shift of awareness to the truth you are never abandoned by the One Life. Your 'low estate' is simply a moment when attention has narrowed to lack, fear, or limitation; it is not you. The I AM—your present awareness—does not depart; mercy is the perpetual gift of your own being, a sustaining favor that persists regardless of appearances. When you rest in this, you stop seeking mercy from outside and begin living from the inner fact that you are the beloved child of the One Life. Providence and guidance arise as inner movements of consciousness that gently reorder your scene to reflect the truth of your I AM. The verse thus teaches you to identify not with the states you fear but with the awareness that remembers them and dissolves them through the mercy of being.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit with eyes closed, breathe deeply, and imagine the I AM gazing upon you with merciful regard; softly repeat 'I am remembered by God now' and feel your sense of lack dissolve into living mercy.
