Psalms 136:15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 136 in context

Scripture Focus

15But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Psalms 136:15

Biblical Context

Pharaoh's power is broken in the Red Sea, and mercy is declared to endure forever.

Neville's Inner Vision

Remember, the Psalm is not a history to be locked in time; it is a record of an inner movement. Pharaoh stands for the fear and bondage I have believed myself to be under. The Red Sea is the boundary I cross when I refuse to identify with that fear any longer. God’s act of overthrowing Pharaoh and his host represents my I AM awareness dissolving the old state of limitation. Mercy is not a person or condition outside me; mercy is the eternal mood of consciousness that endures forever. As I entertain the victorious state, the sea parts not to fulfill some distant event, but to reveal the freedom already secured by the I AM. The deliverance is accomplished in the moment of recognizing that I am not the fear, I am the awareness that witnesses the fear and dissolves it. In that moment, the old army collapses, and the new march—knowing I am free, whole, and supported by everlasting mercy—becomes my present reality.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the complete liberty of the inner state; feel the terror dissolve as you imagine stepping through the Red Sea to the shore of freedom, affirming, 'Mercy endures forever' by your I AM.
