Scripture Focus

18They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.
Psalms 135:18

Biblical Context

Those who fashion idols become like the idols themselves. Those who trust in idols take on the character of what they trust.

Neville's Inner Vision

Psalm 135:18 reveals a simple law of consciousness: those who make idols and put their trust in them become like the images they worship. The idol is a projection of your inner state; the maker and the made are one in your imagination. You are not ruled by things out there, but by the state you inhabit within. If you fear lack, dependency, or power apart from you, you are training yourself to resemble that fear and that power. To awaken, reverse the equation. Assume the I AM as the sole reality, the living ground of your consciousness, and revise your inner image until it reflects your wholeness and sufficiency. When you dwell in the feeling that the wish is fulfilled, you consent to a new nature, and the outer world follows the new inner governor. Idols fall away not by denouncing them, but by elevating awareness to the I AM, the true maker and sustainer of all. Trust becomes directed toward the inner Self, the living source within; your life will align with that true image.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and revise your trust by imagining the I AM as a radiant, unmovable ground. Feel yourself already whole and let that truth dissolve the old idol image.
