Zion's Inner Covenant

Psalms 132:11-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 132 in context

Scripture Focus

11The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
12If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.
13For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.
Psalms 132:11-13

Biblical Context

God swears to David that his descendants will sit on the throne if they keep the covenant. He also declares Zion as the place where God dwells.

Neville's Inner Vision

From Neville's perspective, the text speaks not of a distant nation but of the inner state a person must inhabit. The 'throne' is the throne of consciousness—the ruling position of your I AM. 'The fruit of thy body' becomes the manifestations born of your thoughts—what your life issues forth from your inner state. 'If thy children keep my covenant' means that every generation of your inner voices and habits must align with the divine law of life, the testified truth you hold within. The covenant kept is not a contract with a place but a discipline of awareness: you train your attention to obey the still small voice, you teach your heart to remain faithful to the inner testimony; and Zion is the inner sanctuary you have freely chosen as habitation. The Lord hath chosen Zion; thus your focus must settle in your own inner temple where God, that I AM, dwells as awareness. When you align your imagined life with this inner covenant, your external 'throne' becomes solid, your power stable, and your line of fruition extends indefinitely.

Practice This Now

Assume you are already seated on the throne of your desired state in Zion. Dwell there in awareness for a few breaths, feeling the reality of it as now.
