4Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.
Psalms 125:3-4

Biblical Context

Psalm 125:3-4 says the wicked's rod won’t rest on the righteous, and calls the good and upright in heart to receive blessing; it highlights inner integrity as protection and guidance.

Neville's Inner Vision

Notice that this psalm speaks of a mental state, not a geographical fate. The 'rod' represents the cadence of judgment and fear that the world would press upon you when you forget your true nature. When you rise as the upright in heart, you do not invite defeat; you stand within the I AM and let awareness govern. The outer scene cannot rest upon your 'lot' when your inner belief is secure, for the only reality is consciousness in which God dwells. The second line teaches the law of return: the good you affirm within you is what God grants to you—good and upright conditions—proportionate to the clarity of your inner state. If you feel yourself at peace, generous, and steadfast in integrity, you will witness a life that reflects that inner righteousness. Begin now by assuming the feeling of the upright in heart, trusting that the Lord—your own awareness—performs good to you because you are good in heart.

Practice This Now

Impose the assumption: you are upright in heart, and the rod of judgment cannot rest on your lot; revise a troubling situation by saying, 'I am upright in heart.' Then breathe into the feeling of that truth and observe good flowing into your life.
