Psalms 121:7-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 121 in context

Scripture Focus

7The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
Psalms 121:7-8

Biblical Context

The psalm declares divine protection that begins within your inner state and extends to every outward path.

Neville's Inner Vision

To the seeker, I say: the LORD you seek is the I AM you already are. Preservation is not a distant event but a state of consciousness in which fear, harm, and loss cannot take root because you continually align with your true self. When the verse speaks of preserving thy soul and thy going out and thy coming in, it is describing how your entire life is held by your awareness. Evil dissolves where you identify with the indwelling I AM; your going out and coming in become flows of a protected-minded life, not sequences to be feared. The psalm teaches that protection is timeless—forevermore—because it is the nature of consciousness that endures beyond circumstance. By assuming the truth of the I AM as your own, you enact the very safeguard Psalm 121 promises.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling that you are eternally protected by the I AM. In a moment of stillness, affirm, 'I am preserved by the Lord now and forever,' and gently visualize a soft, radiant shield surrounding you as you move through your day.
