Inner Shield of I AM

Psalms 121:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 121 in context

Scripture Focus

5The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
Psalms 121:5-6

Biblical Context

The Psalm declares that the LORD is the keeper, a protective shade that covers your right hand; day and night danger does not touch you.

Neville's Inner Vision

To me, the keeper is the I AM that you already are. The keeper is your unconditioned awareness, guarding the scene of your life from within. The shade upon thy right hand speaks of a shelter that travels with you as I AM moves with every touch of life. The sun by day and the moon by night symbolize outward conditions, but these do not smite you when you dwell in the inner awareness that your experiences are reflections of your state. If you feel exposed, shift your posture from lack to safety by assuming I AM keeping you; your vivid imagining becomes the weather you consent to. When you close your eyes and feel the steady presence at your right hand, you enact the verse; your imagination becomes the external weather. Persist in this state until reality itself feels governed by your inner consent, and you will find protection is not a mercy but your natural state of I AM.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: close your eyes, breathe, and declare I am kept by the I AM. Feel a shade of awareness resting at your right hand and revise any fear into trust, until you feel it real.
