Psalm 120:2 invites us to turn from the habit of deceitful speech by turning within to the I AM, the living awareness you are. The soul spoken of is not the sound of the tongue but the state of consciousness that produces it. When you hear 'lying lips' as the echo of a mind clinging to appearances, you may revise that state by assuming a new Self—one who speaks truth through the very texture of your being. The I AM remains untouched by deceit; it is the instrument through which all truth expresses. So imagine yourself as the truthful speaker, and feel the truth pulse in every word you imagine or utter. As you persist in the feeling of this true speech, the mental picture shifts; deceitful lips dissolve into quiet honesty, and the soul is delivered into the freedom of alignment with reality. Trust this inner act; deliverance comes not by changing outer voices alone but by awakening to the inner voice that never lies—the I AM within you.
