Read Psalms 12 in context

Scripture Focus

5For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.
6The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
7Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
Psalms 12:5-7

Biblical Context

The psalm speaks of God arising to protect the vulnerable and keeping the faithful safe; the words of the LORD are pure and enduring.

Neville's Inner Vision

Imagine, beloved, that oppression and sighing are not outward facts but states of consciousness you have accepted as real. In this psalm, the I AM—your true awareness—arises on behalf of the poor and needy you have been carrying in your mind, setting that portion of yourself in safety from every puffing thought. The words of the LORD represent your inner truths—pure, silver-tested, refined seven times in your furnace of daily perception. When you insist on them as your present reality, you are not petitioning an external deity but aligning with the one indwelling law of your being that cannot fail. To keep them, to preserve them from generation to generation, is to refuse to trade your certainty for fear, to stand firm in an unshakable conviction that truth and protection are your natural state. Let your imagination dwell in that sanctuary, and the outer conditions yield to the inner alignment. Your heart learns to stop puffing at you and instead feed on pure words that do not rust or fade.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, declare I AM the safeguard of my consciousness; the pure words within me preserve me now, and feel a silver light enclosing you.
