Biblical Context
Psalms 12:3-5 states that the LORD will cut off flattering lips and will arise to protect the needy, delivering safety from the proud.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Neville's ear, 'The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips' is not a historical threat but a state-change of consciousness. The flattering lips and the boastful tongue are the ego's devices to rule by clever speech, to prove 'we prevail' with words rather than with the I AM. When the verse says, 'the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy,' these are inner states—feelings of lack, fear, and invisibility within you. The Lord arising is the inner I AM awakening to your true governor: you, the aware being who cannot be moved by outer flattery. He will set you in safety from him that puffeth at you—safety is not external comfort but an inner alignment where your thoughts and feelings are under one Lord, one authority: your consciousness. Begin with a deliberate revision: assume you are already protected by the I AM, that the world’s proud claims cannot override your serenity. When you feel this as real, the voice of the ego loses its power and you are quietly and firmly secured in the truth of your being.
Practice This Now
Assume the I AM as your sole lord; revise any thought of danger by stating: I AM safe, I AM protected, and feel the safety flowing into my body now.
