Neville's Inner Vision
Your God is not distant; the LORD in this text is the I AM that you are now. Righteous art Thou becomes: your inner I AM speaks with perfect justice; the judgments are the laws of your own state, unshakable and true. The testimonies that thou hast commanded are righteous and faithful—the principles by which you measure your thoughts. When enemies have forgotten thy words, your zeal remains steady, for you burn with conviction to keep your inner word alive. Thy word is very pure; your inner speech is clean, and you love it. I am small and despised: yet do not I forget thy precepts — humility is not weakness but alignment with the eternal law. Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth — the unchanging rule of your consciousness. Trouble and anguish press, yet thy commandments are my delights — you discover joy in living by the law. The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live — seek understanding as the act of accepting the state, and life becomes your present experience.
