Inner Idols, Living God Within
Psalms 115:4-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
These verses reveal lifeless idols—silver and gold formed by human hands—that cannot hear, speak, or move. Those who trust in them become like them, while true sight and power come from the I AM within.
Neville's Inner Vision
Idols are not distant shrines but states of consciousness you entertain when you forget the I AM. The mouths, eyes, and ears of those images speak nothing because they are only appearances of a belief, not living reality. To lift yourself, return your awareness to the I AM, the indwelling God who is aware through you. When you trust in form—the coin in your pocket, the status of your name, the idol of success—you hand over your creation to lifeless shadows and your life mirrors their emptiness. Yet the moment you revise your stance and declare, 'I am the I AM within,' you invert the order: the inner fact becomes your outer experience. Imagination becomes your instrument; you don’t appease an external idol, you awaken to the living principle of consciousness that animates all; thoughts, feelings, and events align to reflect the new state. By feeling the I AM real, you dissolve the power of idols and claim a world that responds from within, not from bronze or stone.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and repeat, 'I am the I AM within.' Imagine the lifeless idol dissolving into light as you rest your attention on the living consciousness that is I AM.
