Biblical Context
Psalm 113:2-9 proclaims praise to the LORD, exalted above all. It reveals how the LORD lifts the poor and the barren, blessing the mind and body alike.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this psalm I hear the call to worship as the recognition of the one I AM within. The name of the LORD is to be praised from dawn to dusk—the steady radiance of awareness that never leaves my side. Though the world may exalt others, the inner version of the psalm reminds me that the I AM is high, yet it bends to behold every detail of heaven and earth—my inner weather, my outer events, all seen through the lens of consciousness. When I identify a sense of lack—the poor in dust or the needy in dung-heap—I learn to shift. The I AM raises the poor, lifts the lowly, and places them among the princes, not by changing external status but by elevating my perception of myself. The barren woman is made to keep house and become a joyful mother of children—this is the mind bearing fruitful ideas and outcomes. I worship by aligning with this gracious, generous vision, and I notice the world reflecting it back to me.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, breathe, and repeat: I AM that I AM. From this moment, I dwell in the praise of the I AM; visualize lifting lack into abundance and placing yourself among princes of your inner realm.
