Illuminated Upright: Light Within

Psalms 112:4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 112 in context

Scripture Focus

4Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
Psalms 112:4

Biblical Context

Even in darkness, the upright are met by light. Their nature is gracious, compassionate, and righteous.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider the upright as a state of consciousness that refuses to yield to fear or lack. Light rising in the darkness is not a weather event outside you, but the shift of awareness within. When I declare, I am the I AM awake within this moment, compassion and mercy unfold as naturally as light appears with dawn. The light does not come to you from without; you become the light, and the world in your dream reflects that interior righteousness, grace, and kindness. To know this is to know that grace is your essential nature, that compassion is your ruler, and that justice follows from the integrity of your inner state. The darkness serves as a mirror showing where imagination has not yet ruled. You revise it by assuming the state of grace until it feels real; you judge nothing, you love, you forgive, and you stand in the present awareness that all is well. In such a moment, the outer world lends support, yet the power remains within as light arising from within.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close the eyes, assume the upright state, and feel the I AM radiating light into the darkness. Revise a current scene by seeing it bathed in grace, compassion, and justice.
