Inner Reckoning of Desires

Psalms 112:10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 112 in context

Scripture Focus

10The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
Psalms 112:10

Biblical Context

The verse describes the downfall or disappointment of the wicked as the outcome of their ways becomes visible, with their plans dissolving and their desires perishing.

Neville's Inner Vision

In Neville Goddard's voice: The term 'wicked' is a state of consciousness—fear, judgment, separation from the I AM. 'Seeing it' is the moment you perceive the fruit of your inner state. The gnashing of teeth is the agitation of an old identity clinging to ego, a noise that proves the ego cannot endure the light of truth. When you imaginatively awaken to the I AM within, the old image of the 'wicked' is no longer authoritative; their desires perish because you no longer feed the sense of separation. As you persist in the conviction that you are the I AM, the sense of lack dissolves, and the external world reflects a collapse of the old agenda. The verse invites you to rest in the realized state where transformation occurs and what was once sought in darkness loses its power.

Practice This Now

Practice: Assume the I AM here and now as the observer of your thoughts; when you notice a 'wicked' impulse, revise it by declaring, 'I am the light that dissolves this desire,' and feel it real until the old craving fades.
