Inner Kingship of the I AM
Psalms 110:2-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Psalms 110 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The psalm speaks of the LORD dispatching strength from Zion so you may rule amid imagined enemies. It also declares sacred priesthood, righteous judgment, and the vitality of holy strength.
Neville's Inner Vision
Picture the 'LORD' as the I AM within you, the unwavering awareness that precedes all experience. The 'rod of thy strength' heeds not from without but springs from Zion—the inner center of consciousness—urging you to rule in the midst of your imagined enemies: doubts, lack, fear. When your 'people' are willing in the day of thy power, you awaken a discipline of holiness—not by outward ritual, but by the state you assume in consciousness, the dew of youth pouring as renewed life into your being. The sworn word that you are 'a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek' declares your timeless, eternal nature, beyond time and ritual. At your right hand, you command the dissolution of hostile kings—the false beliefs that haunt you—on the day of your wrath, the moment you refuse to feed them with attention. You will 'judge among the heathen' by discerning thoughts, choosing which to nurture, and leaving the rest to fade. Finally, you drink of the brook along the way, and in that nourishment you lift up your head, standing in the freedom of your true self.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes; assume the state 'I AM' now. See the rod of strength rising from Zion as your thoughts settle and any inner 'enemies' melt into silence; repeat, 'I rule in the midst of my thoughts' until it feels real.
