In the Neville lens, the wicked bow and shoot at the upright in heart are not arrows in a battlefield but thoughts in the mind trying to persuade you that you are apart from God. The bow and string symbolize your attention stretched toward fear, judgment, and separation. The 'foundations' are your deepest convictions about reality; when they seem destroyed, you feel powerless. Yet the Psalm immediately sets the scene in consciousness: the LORD is in his holy temple; his throne is in heaven; his eyes behold. This is not a distant geography but a description of your own awareness. When you truly know yourself as the I AM, you become the observer who sees the mental archers and disarm their sway. The foundations can be re-established by a deliberate assumption of a new, indivisible truth: that the divine order governs every event within your experience. As you dwell in the inner temple, you learn to dismiss the illusion of danger and align with divine watchfulness. In that alignment, outward upheavals lose their sting because you remember you live in the Lord's watchful consciousness.
