Trusting the LORD Within

Psalms 11:1 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 11 in context

Scripture Focus

1In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?
Psalms 11:1

Biblical Context

The verse urges placing trust in the LORD rather than fleeing, inviting the soul to rest in divine presence.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this verse, the external threat is replaced by a declaration: I put my trust in the LORD. The 'soul' asking 'how can you say, flee to your mountain' is the wandering thought that believes security lies in outward places. Neville would say the mountain and the bird are inner images, not geography. The psalmist chooses to stay within the sanctuary of awareness, not to run. Trust is a choice of consciousness, a steady assumption that the I AM defends, provides, and guides. When I dwell in the recognition that God is my present perception, the sensation of danger collapses into stillness. The outer scene then rearranges to match this inner certainty because imagination creates reality. Therefore practice: assume you are already living in the LORD; revise the fear by saying, 'I am in God now,' and feel the calm widen through every cell. As you persist, you will discover the inner mountain is a state of consciousness, always accessible, always safe.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume you are already in the LORD; revise the impulse to flee by silently declaring 'I am in God now' and feel the calm grounding you.
