Biblical Context
Verse 10–11 asks who will lead the speaker into a strong city and through Edom. It then pleads that God not cast them off and would go forth with their hosts.
Neville's Inner Vision
The cry here is not for an outer champion but for a state of consciousness. The 'strong city' is the fortified mind—your awareness that I AM is present and governing. 'Edom' symbolizes the stubborn landscapes of doubt and weariness within. To be 'cast off' is to believe you stand apart from the divine I AM who moves in every thought. The psalmist’s request—God go forth with our hosts—speaks to your inner army, the thoughts and impulses that carry you forward in life. When you assume that God is already with you, you begin to revise the inner atmosphere: you are not merely asking for help, you are recognizing you are the I AM in action. The moment you treat the inner presence as actual, the external conditions align to your state. Your battles soften as your consciousness chooses the unity of God and self, and the journey into the strong city becomes your present experience.
Practice This Now
Assume the state: 'I am in the strong city now,' and feel God moving at your side with your inner hosts.
