Inner Praise and Fulfillment
Psalms 107:8-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Psalms 107 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse invites praise for God's goodness and wondrous works, while declaring that He satisfies the longing and feeds the hungry soul with goodness.
Neville's Inner Vision
To interpret this psalm through the I AM within, praise is not a shout to an external deity but a turning of attention to the divine awareness that you already are. When you call out 'the LORD' you are naming the one I AM that fills every sensor of feeling. The 'goodness' and 'wonderful works' are the movements of consciousness that your inner sight recognizes as present. The longing soul is simply a mis-timed signal from a state you have not yet believed yourself to be; the hunger is the sense that you lack fullness. But in the moment you affirm 'I am satisfied. I am filled with good,' you stop chasing external proofs and let the mind settle into its natural abundance. In that inner stillness, the appetite for more dissolves, and what you sought appears as the felt reality of your own awareness. The Psalm's promise is not about conditions changing outside you, but your inner state becoming aware of its own plenitude.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, place a hand on your chest and declare, 'I am satisfied now.' As you repeat it, feel the sense of fullness rise, as if the soul has been fed by an inner feast.
