Inner Seas of Consciousness
Psalms 107:23-30 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The psalm portrays sailors who face the sea's tempests, observe divine wonders, cry out, and are brought to safety.
Neville's Inner Vision
These verses unveil a psychology: the sea is the flux of your own consciousness, the ships your endeavors, the great waters the storms of belief. The works of the LORD revealed in the deep are the lively insights when awareness witnesses the waves and sees them as movement of mind, not as external fate. The storm is commanded by thought; when you turn to the I AM—the steady watcher within—you disarm the wind. Crying to the LORD is turning toward consciousness itself, not begging for mercy but aligning with your true nature. He brings you to calm by ceasing identification with the storm; the waves become still as you inhabit your desired haven in imagination. Your soul is melted not by external calamity but by the revelation that you are already free, that your consciousness can keep the ship on course regardless of the weather. Thus deliverance is inner, not outer; the haven you seek exists in the state you assume.
Practice This Now
In a moment of inner storm, close your eyes and assume the feeling of the calm I AM within; revise every wave of fear as not mine. Then imagine yourself arriving at your desired haven, and rest there in awareness.
