Envy, Earth, and the Inner I AM
Psalms 106:16-18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Envy toward leadership arises in the mind; the verse portrays an inner judgment where rebellious thoughts are swallowed up and purged by a purifying fire.
Neville's Inner Vision
Envy is not a condemnation of others but a confession of an unsettled state within your own consciousness. You stand in the camp of your mind, noticing a desire for others to be other than they are, a craving for leadership to prove itself. The 'earth' opening to swallow Dathan and Abiram is the inward mechanism by which you permit ideas not in alignment with your true I AM to be released. Aaron, the saint of the LORD, represents your inner holiness—the living, awake state that knows the truth you are. When envy surfaces, you are not casting judgment on people external to you; you are witnessing a misalignment with the divine order inside. The 'fire' that kindles and burns the wicked is the fiery conviction of your present awareness, burning away the unreality of separation. This is not punishment but a rearrangement of your mental atmosphere, so the old identities bow to the truth of your I AM. Treat these verses as your inner theater: the only actor is the I AM, and your imagination is the instrument by which you rewrite the scene into unity, justice, and holiness.
Practice This Now
Practice: Quietly assume the I AM state and revise the scene by picturing envy dissolving as the earth swallows the impulse; then declare 'The I AM dissolves all envy and upholds holiness' until the feeling of separation vanishes.
