Biblical Context

Psalm 105:44-45 speaks of God giving lands of the heathen and the labour of others to his people so they might observe his statutes and keep his laws.

Neville's Inner Vision

In Neville’s terms, the land given and the labour used to build it are not possessions to be acquired in space, but a shift of consciousness. The heathen lands and the toil of others symbolize the old conditions you have outgrown when you remember who you are: the I AM that imagines and thereby creates. The verses invite you to observe statutes and keep laws, not as external rules, but as inner principles you choose to live by in your heart and imagination. Obedience and faithfulness become daily alignment: you act from an inner decree, you rest in the certainty that your desire is already real in your mind. Covenant loyalty is fidelity to the one consciousness that never abandons you—the inner governor of your world. When this is kept, you inhabit the Kingdom of God here and now: the promised land is your current state of awareness, and the outward world follows your inner decree. Praise ye the LORD resolves into the quiet acknowledgment that you are the I AM, the sovereign of every land you assume.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume you already inhabit the land you seek. Revise any sense of lack by affirming the inner law you follow and feeling it real now.
