Biblical Context
Psalm 103:4 declares that God redeems your life from destruction and crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies. In Neville's view, this is an inner transformation present in consciousness, not only an external event.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the inner traveler, Psalm 103:4 reveals the I AM as the Redeemer who rescues you from imagined destruction by shifting your consciousness. Redemption is not a future event but a present acknowledgment that your life is preserved by the constant mercy of awareness. When you acknowledge that God, the I AM within, crowns you with lovingkindness, you choose to live from a disposition of tenderness rather than fear. The word 'destruction' dissolves as you stop identifying with lack and danger and begin to identify with the mercy that already surrounds you. The crown is a state of feeling, a daily atmosphere of kindness that you wear inside and thus radiate outward. Your experiences then conform to that inner reality, since imagination fashions the world. Practice returning to this awareness, knowing you are cherished, protected, and guided by an inner grace that never departs. In this sense, every moment is a fresh anointing, a renewal accomplished by your own awareness.
Practice This Now
Assume the redeemed state now: close your eyes, say 'I am redeemed, I am crowned with lovingkindness and tender mercies,' and feel it as present reality for five minutes.
