Biblical Context
Psalm 102:23-28 speaks of weakness and aging, yet affirms God's unchanging eternity; the outward world fades, while the true Self endures and the faithful line remains before Him.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within me is the I AM, the eternal awareness that does not age. The psalm speaks of weakness in the way and days shortened, yet these words are but motions in the outer theater. I am not moved by such appearances, for I know that the foundations of the earth and the heavens are the work of my own imagining. Creation is the living picture of my consciousness, ever in union with the One, who endures while all else passes. They shall perish, but Thou shalt endure—so I revise: the changing garment of time is but a garment; the true Self never changes. My years are the years of God’s mind, without end; and the children of Thy servants are my ideas and acts that remain established before Thee when I dwell in the eternal present. The psalmist’s cry becomes a blessing: I align with the timeless You, and my life flows from that unchanging center.
Practice This Now
Assume you are the I AM, feeling that you are forever unchanged. For a few minutes, revise the sense of time by confessing, 'I am the ever-enduring You,' and breathe into the timeless present.
