Biblical Context
Psalm 1 contrasts the fruitful, steadfast life of the righteous with the empty, drifting life of the ungodly. The righteous is like a tree by water, prospering in its season; the wicked are like chaff that the wind blows away.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your mind is the soil; I AM is the rivers of life; the tree is your inner state that bears fruit in its season. When you assume the feeling of being planted by living waters—steady, nourished, unshaken—your thoughts, choices, and circumstances align to prosper what you intend. The verse does not promise external success apart from your inner condition; it proclaims that true wholeness follows the state you inhabit. The ungodly, like chaff blown by the wind, reveal a wandering consciousness—snap judgments, insubstantial plans, fear-driven motives. They cannot stand in the right order of your inner court because they have not become your settled reality. The judgment reference invites you to examine your assumptions: which beliefs are taking root, which imaginal acts are you allowing, and are you willing to revise? By continually returning to the awareness that you are the I AM, you prune away useless thoughts and leave the evergreen leaf of faith intact. Thus your life springs forth in its season, and every deliberate act moves toward prospering as you align with your true self.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and feel the current of life flowing through you as the river nourishes the tree within. Assume the posture of the I AM, declare 'I am planted by living waters,' and revise any lack into abundance.
