Proverbs 9:13-14

Biblical Context

The text contrasts a clamorous, simple folly with a poised inner seat of discernment. It points to the interior decision-maker—our consciousness—sitting at the gates of the self.

Neville's Inner Vision

Remember, the 'foolish woman' is not a person but a state of consciousness—clamor, impulse, surface knowledge dressed as truth. She sits at the door of her house, a seat among the high places of the city, because in the mind she craves notice and action now. The wise figure is the quiet I AM, the perceiving presence that can watch the city without being swept away by noise. When the inner voice grows loud, you can revise by returning to that seat of authority, asserting, 'I am the I AM, and this moment is governed by that awareness.' Feel this new posture as real: not by denial of circumstance but by the selective attention that chooses what you will entertain. The once-clamorous thoughts lose their grip as you inhabit the inner gate and observe from a center that does not tremble. Slowly, the outward scene mirrors the change as if from a different vantage point, and discernment replaces confusion.

Practice This Now

Assume the role: 'I am the wise I AM, seated at the inner gate now.' Feel it fully for a minute, then carry that feeling into daily moments.
